Opulent Buckhead is teeming with affluence and class. Mansions, great shopping with virtually all of the most sought after brands are found in Buckhead. At night the skyline glitters with hotels, businesses, and condos. On the weekends in particular, the community becomes the place to see and be scene in some of the trendiest clubs in the Atlanta area. 

See & Do

Explore the gardens, historic homes, the Margaret Mitchell House, a research center, and a library on the grounds of the Atlanta History Center. The Smith Family Farm and a museum devoted to the Olympic Games held in Atlanta are also located on the property. You and your family can spend hours back in time at the Atlanta History Center.

Eat

Bone’s Restaurant (3130 Piedmont Road) has thick juicy steaks, and chops, sandwiches, soups and salads.  Grits are a Southern delicacies, and you’ll find them ingeniously prepared as crispy grit fritters. Desserts include key lime pay, cheesecake, and a dark chocolate torte with vanilla whipped cream and raspberry coulis.

Party

Students from Atlanta’s colleges hang out at clubs, including Churchills, Park Bench, and Moondogs. These clubs are for people who like to dance, drink and have an overall good time. Most people are familiar with the Pool Hall, the oldest bar in Buckhead. The opposite of opulent, the Pool Hall, is located at 30 Irby Avenue and was established  in 1946. It is a fixture in the community and the kind of place where just about anything could happen, but if it does, you can bet that the police will be there in no time.

Stay

Buckhead has some of the most luxurious hotels in the Atlanta area. The Mansion,  the Ritz Carlton, Grand Hyatt Atlanta, and the St. Regis Atlanta. Some of the amenities in these upscale hotels include pampering spas, Jacuzzis, poolside bars, and scrumptious cuisine. Most hotels have flat screen television sets, wireless internet connections, turndown service, and some also have butler service.

Shop

Buckhead is known for having two of the most popular malls in the Atlanta area, Lennox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza. Phipps, 3500 Peachtree Road NE,  is typically has a quiet atmosphere. It’s usually not crowded. You can expect to find most luxury brands. Stores include  Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Juicy Couture, Bottega Veneta, and Tiffany & Company. An MAC movie theater is also in Phipps.  Anchor stores include Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Belk. Lennox Square Mall one of the livelier malls, is also upscale with stores including, Ralph Lauren, Cartier, Burberry, and Louis Vuitton. Located at 3393 Peachtree Road NE, Lennox also has a movie theater.
