Just a couple decades ago, Marietta was considered the burbs of Atlanta. The city has grown tremendously, however, and the large population has lots to see and do in this historic and fun town. Marietta is a lovely place for families to call home with all the family-focused activities that abound.

See & Do

White Water has been helping Marietta folks stay cool during the summer months for many years. This family friendly destination has enough rides and attractions to keep the family occupied for an entire day. Float down the Lazy River or relax in the Atlanta Ocean. The older kids will enjoy water slides and tubing.

Eat

One of the few restaurants in Marietta that is open 24 hours a day is the Marietta Diner. This neon decorated restaurant is stays busy all hours of the day. Sandwiches like the Monte Cristo and Chicken Parmesan are popular but so are ommelettes, meatloaf and country fried steak. Make sure to save room for the desserts. You can't miss them as there is a huge display case at the front of the restaurant.

Shop

Visitors to the Marietta Square will have lots to occupy their time. There are lots of boutiques with antiques, wine and housewares, and some clothing stores. There are also some shops with collectibles and jewelry in the Marietta Square. Take a break from shopping in the square's center, where you can sit on benches and enjoy the fountains of Glover Park.
